VA C-file: what a claims file is (and how to request a copy)

A VA C-file is the claims file people mean when they talk about VA records of a claim. This page is education. This product does not download a C-file from VA, does not OCR image-only pages, and does not ingest a C-file by pulling it from VA. A PDF you already have can be stored in the vault here.

How people say it

C-file means claims file. In ordinary veteran talk, that is the body of claim-related records VA keeps for a person’s claim history. What is in the file, and how VA releases a copy, is VA’s process. This page does not invent a private table of contents for a file it has not seen.

If you want that copy, request it yourself on VA’s channels, such as the Contact VA page, or ask an accredited representative you choose. We do not send that request. We do not download a C-file from VA. When a copy is already in your hands, you can store the PDF here and sort it. Storing it is organization. It is not a rating and it is not a filing.

Educational meaning of “C-file”

In common veteran and claims-work vocabulary, a C-file (claims file) refers to the body of claim-related records associated with a veteran’s VA claim activity. Exact contents and access paths are governed by VA — not by this product.

Public VA materials describe evidence needed for claims, how to check claim or appeal status on VA.gov, and the process after you file. Those official pages are the durable sources for what VA publishes; this hub does not invent a private mirror of your VA file.

What this product does not do with C-files

This product does not download your C-file from VA. It does not OCR image-only pages. It does not ingest a C-file by pulling records from VA. A PDF you already have may be stored in the vault here. Words already on the page can be saved for your own search. A quote appears only when those exact words are on the page. We do not invent a quote.

Vault uploads on this product store materials you choose to place here. We do not read file contents with OCR. Image-only pages stay labeled image-only. No autofill for VA submission. We do not file.

If you need official copies of records from VA, use VA’s published channels (for example contact and claim-status pages on VA.gov) or an accredited representative. We do not request records from VA for you.

Empty / early reading

Empty / early reading of this public hub means you have not organized a packet on this product. This page is published VA education only. Empty is not complete. It is not a filing and not claim readiness.

Empty / early hub reading is education and organize only. We do not autofill, submit, or file. We do not pull from a VA account. We do not OCR uploads. Each veteran pays their own monthly subscription — $9.99/mo or $107.99/yr (About 10% off a year paid upfront), a flat monthly or yearly fee for that veteran, never a percentage of VA benefits. Not an organization fee. This page does not appoint an accredited representative.
